What a supply bond is
A supply bond guarantees a supplier will deliver materials or equipment as the contract says. Public agencies and project owners use them on large supply contracts.
In Arkansas
Under Ark. Code § 19-11-235(c), the State Procurement Director or an agency procurement official may require a bid bond, performance bond or similar assurance from bidders and contractors. The state procurement rule caps such a bond at 100% of the contract price, and it applies only when the solicitation requires it.
- A bid is not awarded to a bidder who fails to provide a bond the invitation for bids requires (Rule R2:19-11-235).
You need this bond if you're
- A material supplier on a public contract
- An equipment vendor or manufacturer
- A distributor supplying a large private project
